Who is Remy Metailler?

Rémy was born in France and grew up in the scenic coastal city of Nice, but it was the wild landscapes of Squamish in British Columbia that ultimately shaped his path. Rémy has quickly become one of the most recognized figures in extreme sports, especially within the world of mountain biking. As a four-time Red Bull Rampage competitor, Rémy has secured his place in the sport’s history, delivering unforgettable moments filled with speed, skill, and fearless riding.

Since 2014, his passion for biking has grown from competitive riding into a full-time profession. He first gained attention by creating some of the most impactful mountain bike videos filmed in the Whistler Bike Park. Over the years, he has been invited to compete in Red Bull Rampage four times and has also secured victories in several prominent urban downhill races.

Away from the dirt jumps and steep trails, Rémy’s interests stretch across many different areas. He enjoys everything from cooking and skiing through fresh powder to surfing ocean waves and riding motorcycles. Adventure is at the heart of everything he does. Still, mountain biking remains his greatest passion. Today, he focuses on pushing the limits of what’s possible on a bike while also sharing his knowledge with riders around the world through educational videos on YouTube and Instagram. Through his content, he motivates both beginners and seasoned riders, encouraging a global community to embrace the excitement of riding.

Quick Facts

Rémy moved to Canada in 2013 to pursue his love of mountain biking and skiing. It was a life long dream of his at that point to visit the Whistler Bike Park.

After spending the better part of 2013 improving his riding and creating bike park videos he decided to turn pro and do mountain biking full time. He was able to make a living solely from mountain biking in 2014.

Rémy's said this about his favorite place to ride: "For me, the Sea to Sky corridor from Vancouver to Pemberton is my all time favourite place to ride and the reason why I live in Squamish. The challenge and diversity of the terrain, the beauty of the place and the riding community make it unbeatable. "
